Made for an invitational show about artists' interpretations of aprons, this piece is informed by the expectations of and put on mid 20th Century housewives.
It is meant to be suspended and seen from both sides.
Side one: The happy housewife with her new appliances and responsibilities.
Side two: A wake-up call. She now feels trapped by these same things.

About the expectations put on mid-century housewives: not all these women were happy with their lot.
